Validation & Testing

Validation & Testing

Part of any development is to eliminate technical risk in the project. We do that by tackling the most difficult problems first. Often we construct physical test setups and protocols to verify that technically difficult subsystems can be made to perform as required. Only when all the risk has been addressed do we begin a fully integrated design of the system.
This approach makes certain that the eventual product will function as intended and assists to make sure the selected solution is manufacturable.
In the case of diagnostics instruments, usually companies have developed a chemistry that they have tested in the laboratory. We have learned that one of our first requirements when developing a diagnostic instrument is to validate and determine the robustness of the chemistry for the consumable part of the system. If this is not validated properly, there is no sense continuing on to develop the instrument.
